A Day with the Warriors!
MGSHA member Karen Hatten hosted the club at her "fort" in Ft Valley for a joint meeting with the Lords and Ladies of the Kingdome of Meridies. It was a great day of fun learning about the Society for Creative Anachronism and all their activities. Jackie Trotter and Jennifer Smith both passed their riding tests for and Jennifer passed her weapons test to qualify to join some of the practices. More than a dozen club members braved the increasing threatening weather to watch the demonstrations and enjoy the display of great horses and horsemanship. View more photos on our gallery page.
Thank you, Karen for a wonderful lunch and wonderful day!
About the Middle Georgia Sport Horse Association
We are a grass roots educational horse club with members from across central Georgia with an interest in dressage.
"Dressage" is a french word that translates as "training". Dressage competitions are numerically scored tests of the horse's training progress.
As a Group Member Organization of the United States Dressage Federation, the Middle Georgia Sport Horse Association is dedicated to furthering the education of riders and developing our horses whether for pleasure, show or competition.
Our members, no matter what their preferred discipline, have a common interest in dressage. We welcome all breeds of horses and all levels of riders.
Our goal is to promote good horsemanship and educated riding through clinics, seminars, schooling shows and educational programs that stress the principles of classical dressage training and good horse management.
